Hi, I am Alexei Montenegro, a fully licensed Acupuncturist, Naturopath and Biomedical Engineer. I practice an acupuncture method known as ‘Distal Needling’. Distal Needling is based on the ancient knowledge of the “I CHING” which I studied with masters of the art including Dr. Richard Tan (Balance Method), Dr. Robert Doane (DNA and MPD) and Susan Johnson (Tung’s method)
These techniques are classified under the umbrella term of distal needling as acupuncture needles are placed in the extremities of the limbs which are usually far from the sick or painful area of the body.

Thanks to this acupuncture method, 90% of my patients will experience a substantial reduction of pain within seconds of needles being inserted. Distal needling differs from traditional acupuncture in frequency with treatment being performed more intensively (at least twice weekly). More frequent treatments allow for quicker results for the patient in terms of weeks rather than months. All chronic and some acute pains can be treated: neck, frozen shoulder, cervical, dorsal, lumbar and sciatic pain, knee pain etc, as well as systemic conditions including migraine headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, digestion, hormones, sleep, stress, depression, menstrual, etc.

The mechanisms by which distal needling works are based on the modulation of the nervous system producing the following effects:
  • Removal of the pain signal which is no longer required (definition of chronic pain)
  • Increase of blood flow to the affected area. Blood acts as the carrier of all healing compounds (oxygen, hormones, neurotransmitters, nutrients, etc)
  • Removal of toxins arising from stagnation (lack of blood flow in an organ or tissue)

At DN Clinic, I diagnose using the ancient method of Chinese medicine based on questioning, palpation, observation and  pulse diagnosis -MPD-. These diagnosis methods will allow me to detect any imbalance in the organs, inflammation, blockage or deficiency. Medical Pulse Diagnosis will let me follow your progress in achieving a healthier state.
